A new category on my blog! In ‘get to know’ I introduce a bookblogger to you and the very first person to shine a light on is Femke (19) from booksfemme. I interviewed her in Nijmegen, where she studies International Business Communication. Sit back, relax and get to know Femke.

When, how en why did you start booksfemme?
“I took a gap year after I graduated from high school and went to Londen where I worked as an au pair. In my spare time, I visited bookstores and read a lot of books. That’s when my love for books came back. After a while I started my bookstagram account, just for fun.”

Sounds fun! You recently started a bookblog too?
“Yes! As much as I love to use Instagram, the captions are too short to fully express myself. So I wanted to improve my writing and open a platform where I could share my love for books even more.”

What’s your absolute favorite book?
“It may be standard, but Harry Potter is my all time favorite. Especially the fourth book.”

Favorite genre to read?
“Young Adult Fantasy.”

What’s the best book you’ve read in 2017 this far?
“That’s a hard one, but I am going to choose Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johanson. I loved the fact that the main character was my age, something that doesn’t happen very often in Young Adult books.”

Least favorite book you’ve read this far?
“The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Everyone on bookstagram loved the book, it was a total hype. But I didn’t like it at all. I actually stopped reading it.”

Last but not least. What is your favorite book quote?
“I try to write quotes down when I really like them, and I wrote this one down from Six of Crows: “She’d laughed, and if he could have bottled the sound and got drunk on it every night, he would have” – Kaz on Inej.”
If you want to get to know Femke even more, check out her blog or follow her on Instagram! Who should I interview next?
